That may be why at idle it shuts off after time. Next time this happens, turn key off and pull the solenoid linkage down to turn the engine off.

Then make sure you headlights are also set Auto and then when you pull up to a stop sign you will see Auto engine stop unavailable in the display and the engine doesn't shut off.
